Roots To Go Home
After working in a medical office, Kazia Humphrey knew something was missing. She was a true people person and craved interpersonal relationships, but being in a fast paced medical office didn’t really allow for a true relationship with the patient. Kazia wanted something she could enjoy, be creative with, and also at the same time interact deeply with others, and in 2019, she ended up discovering her true passion that enveloped all of these goals.
Kazia has always enjoyed crafting, and in May of 2019, she realized her passion for creating jewelry. In particular, her go-to jewelry piece - earrings. Roots & Wings by KH was ultimately born. The name, “Roots and Wings,” holds a lot of weight for Kazia as it is derived from a longer quote, “Give your children wings to fly, and roots to go home.” She feels this truly encompasses who she is because after marrying a marine, she moved away from her hometown of Indiana, and ended up moving often. While she now lives in Southeastern PA, she values having her roots in Indiana to always be able to go home to.
Roots & Wings by KH specializes in handcrafted leather earrings and jewelry pouches. Kazia creates lightweight, trendy, versatile statement earrings for everyday wear. She creates pieces for every style and every budget, and is happy to be able to be out in the public providing quality products to others. She truly loves seeing someone else love an item that she conceptualized and created herself.
Kazia retails her pieces online, as well as at The York Merchant. She discovered The York Merchant through social media, and was one of the first merchants to join the team. She loves being able to interact with her customers in person, and being part of this group of local crafters and artists. She truly values her customers, and thanks everyone for supporting local makers and small businesses like hers.
