Your Style, Your Way
Erica Meck’s professional background lies in the retail industry. Most recently, she had been a Strategic Account Manager traveling all throughout the US. While it paid the bills, it was definitely an intense grind. Erica knew she ultimately wanted to move back to her hometown of Lancaster, and when the pandemic hit last year, it became a perfect opportunity for her to be able to do just that. Being a naturally creative person, she became restless pretty quickly after being out of work, so she began crafting small items and selling them on Etsy. After seeing her quick success online, her uncle suggested she start a real business, and Erica’s new chapter to her professional journey began.
Erica’s passion is finding old items that she can up-cycle and turn into something completely new and one of a kind. She prides herself on creating items that are completely unique and that you won’t find anywhere else. She sells vintage pieces, custom jewelry, stationary, bookmarks, and even up-cycled furniture. In Erica’s own words, she explains, “Wouldn’t it be great to walk down a store aisle and all of the items you didn’t know you needed were right there in front of you?”
Erica started The Styled Aisle out of her home, and recently has been looking to grow her physical footprint through marketplaces. She started off by going to a few craft fairs, and then discovered The York Merchant online. She loved the concept, and especially the fact that it’s a more intimate space. She knew that her products would shine and truly be appreciated. She also values the consistent support that the team has provided her, especially as a small business just getting started.
Erica has always been a creative person. She finds much of her inspiration from so many other people. She subscribes to many creative individuals on YouTube and social media, and loves trying out new things and seeing people’s reactions to her work. She runs many of her ideas by her family, and knows that when they say they like something, they really mean it. Erica also gets a lot of help from her Shepard mix, Stella, who shows her approval through lots of kisses.
In addition to selling her products at The York Merchant, Erica also recently launched online shopping on her website, where in addition to her handcrafted items, she also sells vintage and pre-loved products. Erica's hope is that people take her ideas and products to help build more confidence in their own creative journeys.
